In some circumstances, installing an application to your computer system can result in an entry becoming added to the system Startup folder where it opens automatically each time you start your computer. The StartUp Management feature provides access to the applications that launch when you boot your system so you can optimize your computer's startup performance. From the list that is provided you can enable or disable items and you can choose to remove items. Getting Started To start you will need to open the Startup Manager. To start a the Startup Management process, do the following: From the Optimize PC page, click the Startup Management link. The window appears as can be seen here:

You can also review the total number of startup items which includes a breakdown of how many are enabled and how many are disabled and the total time is also displayed. Processes and Services There are three other tabs that are available for you to review. They include:
Enable or Disable You can choose to have any item in the list enabled or disabled. When an item is enabled it will be launched each time you start your computer. When you disable an item it remains in the list and is not launched at startup. It is considered good practice to disable an item and testing how your computer operates after making the change. This way you can easily revert back for undesired changes. To disable an item, do the following: Click the down arrow for an item in the list and select Disable. To enable an item, do the following: Click the down arrow for an item in the list and select Enable. Process Tree You can get a detailed view of the items that start up when you last launched your PC in the order they occurred. To view the list of startup processes select the "Process Tree" tab.
