You can create schedules for the Disk Defrag so that it scans automatically at a time of your choosing. After the scan is complete you can have PC TuneUp Maestro automatically defrag the selected volumes if the fragmentation exceeds a set percentage level. You can also restore the settings to their original default state.
Getting Started
You can begin automating Disk Defrag scans by displaying the available settings.
To open the Disk Defrag Schedule page, do one of the following:
• | From the Options page, click the Disk Defrag Schedule link. |
• | From the Disk Defrag window, click the Options button. |
Schedule Scan Options
To begin you can choose whether to have automated scan schedules running.
If you choose to not have Disk Defrag Schedules, do the following:
Select the option button: Do not perform a scheduled disk fragmentation scan.
To choose a schedule scan, do the following:
1. | Select the option button: Perform a scheduled disk fragmentation scan with the following options. |
2. | Configure the Disk Defrag Schedule options. |

This is a button that is displayed to the right of the Defrag schedule text. The Defrag schedule text will read something like: "The scan will include the following disk(s) at 04:59 pm on every Friday."
Click the button and make changes by doing the following:
• | New Schedule: Use the spin arrows to change the time of the schedule. |
• | Day of the Week: Use the drop down arrow and select a day. |

Volume list:
|
A list of all identified volumes on your PC. Information includes: volume name, format, total size, and used space.
Select one or more associated check boxes to include the volumes to be scanned.

Automatic Defrag
|
You can choose to have PC TuneUp Maestro automatically defrag the selected volumes when the scan identifies a defragmentation that exceeds a percentage level of your choice (for example, 10%).
To automate the defrag process:
2. | Click the drop down arrow and select Full Defrag or Quick Defrag. |
3. | Use spin arrows to select a fragmentation level. Minimum value is 3% and maximum value is 99%. |

Warnings checkbox

System tray and exit warnings will be displayed based on the value you select using the spin arrows. Minimum value is 3% and maximum value is 99%.

SmartDefrag checkbox
|
You can choose to have the application make a smart decision based on the necessity and frequency of defragmentation.

Defrag Now default action
|
Select the action for the Defrag Now button. Use the drop down arrow and select Full Defrag or Quick Defrag.

Restore Defaults
After making changes to the settings you can easily restore all the settings to their original default state.
To restore the defaults, do the following:
Click the Restore Defaults button.
When you are done you can click the Main Menu button to continue using the program.
