Questions and Answers

The following are some Knowledge Base questions and corresponding answers relevant to the topics in this section.

Registry Defrag

toggle_expand_16   What is registry fragmentation?

The computer registry is constantly accessed and modified by the operating system.  Sometime storage for registry data entries is allocated and yet can go unused.  The wasted spaces in the registry create fragmentation – areas that are not longer continuous.  System processes that use the registry to repeatedly modify the values in small increments can cause excessive memory fragmentation in the corresponding memory hive.

Over time, registry fragmentation increases as the allocated size became many times larger than the sum of actual data in the registry. This slows down registry access speed, and thus, impedes the performance of your entire computer. Eventually, registry fragmentation will cause registry modification to fail.

PC TuneUp Maestro repairs registry fragmentation!

PC TuneUp Maestro fixes the fragmentation issue by realigning the registry values so there are no more gaps.  By doing so your system benefits as:

The registry is compact and system response time is enhanced.
The registry is cleaner; it takes up less disk space and consumes fewer resources.

By achieving optimal registry access, your PC runs faster due to improved system and application response times.

System and Internet TuneUp Tools

toggle_expand_16   How can I optimize system performance? How can I improve Internet speed and performance?

Multiple factors can affect system performance, ranging from hardware configurations to system settings. Upgrading your system hardware is an option.  However, it simply makes sense to begin with an assessment of your system configuration and discover the performance opportunities that are easy to implement.

There are certain constraints with system hardware such as how much RAM you can add to your computer.  With system performance you can fine tune certain aspects to best handle the upgrades and changes that come from day-to-day use.  Common areas for optimization include: hard drive, computer memory, networking, application and file system management.

PC TuneUp Maestro is equipped with advanced analysis technology and can identify every opportunity to improve your PC performance.  With PC TuneUp Maestro you can:

Enhance hard drive and file system efficiency.
Increase network and Internet throughput.
Improve memory and application management.
